Here’s a few MEG volunteers putting up the Christmas trees around Milnsbridge on Sunday 29 November.

Fixing in one of the Christmas trees on Market Street

The weather was less than cooperative, but we had help from several enthusiastic Duke of Edinburgh award-doers, who lent a hand with both distributing the trees around the village and decorating them the previous day.

Come back soon for a look at the trees in all their illuminated glory…

The other end of the ladder!

Trimming the trees to size and dressing them with lights

Getting to grips with a prickly situation

Nearly 40 trees later, it's time for a relaxing lunch

This morning we’ve been busy preparing displays for Golcar Gala.  The gala takes place on Saturday 27 June in the playing fields behind St John’s and Manor Road primary schools, from 12.30pm until 4pm. See you there!

We’ve finally finished painting the railings around the River Street car park. The Huddersfield Examiner ran a story about it.

Thanks to everyone who helped and the local businesses who donated towards the cost of the paint.

Milnsbridge Enhancement Group are a group of community volunteers living in and around Milnsbridge, Huddersfield.

We work to make the village better for everyone in many different ways, from picking up litter and painting railings to brightening up the streets with hanging baskets in summer and Christmas trees in winter.

But we’re always on the lookout for something new to get stuck into. Do you have an idea for something that could be improved in Milnsbridge? If you do, feel free to get in touch with us by leaving a comment here. We can’t promise that we’ll definitely be able to do something about it, but we’d like to hear from you. Maybe you could come and join us next time we’re busy!
